A NOTE FROM GRACE KASAMBA:
Dear Friends
I just wanted to let you know that i remember the time that i spent with you all so fondly. May God bless you all.

How is the weather now? We have been through the dry season and now the wet season is beginning. We will soon have heavy rain daily. Temperatures are within seventies and that is not too hot for us as it can get hotter.

I was in town yesterday and i found an oven that i will buy at an equivalent of 1000 dollars. Thank you all very much for the help. My family members send their greetings. I will have to write individual emails because then i can say more, given what i wish to tell each person, but i just wanted to say hi to you all. Love Grace

GOOD FRIDAY WALK

This year the member-churches of the Mystic Area Ecumenical Council (MAEC) are urging their parishioners to close the Lenten season by following in the footsteps of Jesus by walking and praying the Stations of the Cross along River Road. Our Good Friday Pilgrimage goes from the Mystic Congregational Church to the Old Mystic Baptist Church with the Stations offering opportunities for prayer and meditation both to and from Old Mystic. Walkers are asked to seek donations to help counties in Mississippi and Alabama plus serving the poor in our local communities. ¾’s of the money raised will go to SHARING, Inc. which helps to relieve Afro-American families who suffer from the effects of poverty and racism today. The remaining ¼ will remain in Mystic and be used for food and shelter programs supported by the MAEC. Plan to make Lent 2008 a time of spiritual outreach to the poor here in Mystic and in the rural south by making the Good Friday Pilgrimage. Walkers can secure pledge sheets during Lent at their parish business office. On March 21st, walkers can register/sign-in between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. at the Mystic Congregational Church (43 East Main St., corner Broadway). All walkers must register and return to this location. This pilgrimage is an appropriate way to make the closing segment of Jesus’ earthly existence personally meaningful for Christians today.
