OUR SUMMER SCHEDULE OF PREACHERS: Aug. 2 & 9-The Rev’d Amjad Samuel, Aug. 16 & 23, The Rev’d Douglass Lind, Aug. 30 & Sept. 6, The Rev. Amjad Samuel. Reminder: the 10:00 service will resume on Sept. 13.
The LITURGICAL SCHEDULE OF Ushers, Lectors, Ministers of Communion, Acolytes, etc. for Sept. 13 through the end of Nov. will soon be compiled. If you will be away during that time and unavailable to serve, please phone Jean McNutt at 860.535.9455 before August 10, and we will do our best to avoid scheduling you at an inconvenient time.
STEWARDSHIP EVENT REMINDER:
The Stewardship Council invites you to attend another rewarding night of sharing thoughts, friendship and great food! As the second “chapter” of our conversations on Stewardship, Amjad Samuel will guide us in understanding the “New Testament Foundations of Stewardship”. Not only will Amjad provide food for thought, he and Mollie will be providing our delicious supper of one of Amjad’s favorite Pakistani dishes. Judging from the feedback received from those who attended our earlier conversations about the “Old Testament Foundations of Stewardship”, none of us will want to miss what is sure to be a spirited gathering of fellowship and learning. Be with us on Tuesday, August 4th at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall - no reservations necessary - we’ll see you there!
Our friends at the PAWCATUCK NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER need donations of canned fruit, boxed cereal, jars of jam and jelly, and any other non-perishable food items. Next time you’re grocery shopping, why not pick up a few extra items and place them in the basket at the back of the church. Many local families need our help!
COFFEE HOUR HOSTS are needed. It is an easy ministry to provide a few simple sweets and to make coffee for those wanting to share fellowship and camaraderie after the 10:00 service. If you could do this just once or twice a year, it would be a tremendous help to Calvary. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet posted in the Parish Hall. Your help will be appreciated!
THREE IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
• Sept. 13 The Rev’d Erik Larsen, Canon for Transitional Ministry, will preach at both services and discuss the search process during coffee hour at 11:00.
• Sept. 27 All Parish Meeting to Elect the Search committee at 11:00 in the Parish Hall.
• Oct. 4 “Telling Our Story”, 4-8 p.m. Potluck Dinner – Details to follow.
