The LITURGICAL SCHEDULE of Ushers, Lectors, Ministers of Communion, etc. for December through February will soon be compiled. If you will be away during that time and unavailable to serve, please phone Jean McNutt at 860-535-9455 before November 9, and we will do our best to avoid scheduling you at an inconvenient time.
CALVARY CHURCH ALTAR FLOWERS FUND – Altar arrangements in memory of a loved one or in celebration of a special occasion may be sponsored for a donation of $60. Gift forms are available at the back of the church or you may call Phyllis in the office at 535-1181 or Gill Perry at 535-8139. You may also donate a lesser amount of your choosing toward the Calvary Church Altar Flowers Fund. Your gift will be used, together with those of others, on the Sundays when there is no designated gift. The names of donors will appear in the bulletin or you may mark your gift “Anonymous”. Please mark the memo line of your check “Flower Fund” and mail to Calvary Church or place in the alms basin. Should you wish to join the Flower Guild, please do not hesitate to call.
MEALS ON WHEELS is looking for a couple of drivers/deliverers to help out one Thursday per month. The prepared meals are picked up by each two-person team at the COMO and delivered to clients around Stonington/Pawcatuck from 11:30-1:30. If you would like to help with this important ministry or have any questions, contact Jack Gorby at 860.535.0578.
UPCOMING SAFE CHURCH TRAINING SESSIONS – all sessions are held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (lunch provided): Nov. 14, Christ Church, 78 Washington St., Norwich; Nov. 21, Trinity, 651 Pequot Ave., Southport. During the month of November, Calvary Outreach, along with the ECW and Calvary Nursery School will be COLLECTING FOOD FOR THE PAWCATUCK NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER’S THANKSGIVING PROJECT. Donations of instant potatoes or rice, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, and store gift certificates for turkeys would be greatly appreciated.
COFFEE HOUR HOSTS are needed. It is an easy ministry to provide a few simple sweets and to make coffee for those wanting to share fellowship and camaraderie after the 10:00 service. If you could do this just once or twice a year, it would be a tremendous help to Calvary. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet posted in the Parish Hall. Your help will be appreciated!
