AN INVITATION FROM OUR PRAYER GROUP
Our prayer group meets around the altar at Calvary Church on the second and fourth Fridays of the month from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. We spend time in prayer and time in silence, lifting up those in prayer on our church prayer list and friends and family who are not on our list, as well as other prayer requests. Please join us on the days mentioned whenever you wish to be part of this special time around our altar. Occasionally there is a change in the schedule so please check with the church office beforehand. Any questions, please call Joan Wesley at 401-348-2928.
CALVARY SUNDAY LUNCH BUNCH: will not meet today. Next scheduled lunch is on Jan. 17.
PLEASE NOTE that Janet will be away from Dec. 28 – Jan. 1, and Phyllis may be away for several days also.
2010 GIVING ENVELOPES WILL BE IN THE BACK OF THE CHURCH ON SUN., DEC. 27. If you have requested envelopes, please pick up your box at your convenience.
SEARCH UPDATE: We continue to assess the survey and prepare a presentation to the Vestry in Jan. Work on developing Focus Groups continues. We will not meet again until Jan. 7 as we are taking Christmas and New Year’s Eve off!
UGANDA MISSION TEAM: $800. was raised for the CHAIN Orphanage from the Alternative Gift Fair, a designated plate offering in the spring and a generous matching gift from a supporter of this program. The money will be used to provide over 100 orphans with a special Christmas meal, Christmas gifts of school supplies for both the sighted and blind, clothing, and some soccer balls. Thanks to all who helped make a special Christmas for some of God’s most vulnerable children.
The PAWCATUCK NEIGHBOORHOOD CENTER needs the following food: soup, peanut butter & jelly, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, canned beans, tuna, juice boxes for children, and brownie mixes.
COFFEE HOUR HOSTS are needed. It is an easy ministry to provide a few simple sweets and to make coffee for those wanting to share fellowship and camaraderie after the 10:00 service. If you could do this just once or twice a year, it would be a tremendous help to Calvary. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet posted in the Parish Hall. Your help will be appreciated!
CALVARY CHURCH ALTAR FLOWERS FUND – Altar arrangements in memory of a loved one or in celebration of a special occasion may be sponsored for a donation of $60. Gift forms are available at the back of the church or you may call Phyllis in the office at 535-1181 or Gill Perry at 535-8139. You may also donate a lesser amount of your choosing toward the Calvary Church Altar Flowers Fund. Your gift will be used, together with those of others, on the Sundays when there is no designated gift. The names of donors will appear in the bulletin or you may mark your gift “Anonymous”. Please mark the memo line of your check “Flower Fund” and mail to Calvary Church or place in the alms basin. Should you wish to join the Flower Guild, please do not hesitate to call.
