As we enter into a new church year and await the birth of Jesus, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Senior Warden. During this time of transition, I never cease to be amazed by the spirit working through all of us as we travel through the journey to call our new rector and volunteer our time, talent and treasure for our ‘church by the sea’. I want to take this opportunity to wish each of you a wonderful and blessed Christmas season and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

These groups will meet with 3 members of the Search Committee in January. Dates and times to be announced. There will be 3 standard questions asked of all the groups. Group meetings should last no more than 3/4 - 1 hour. Please do not confuse these Focus Groups with Vestry Conversations.

Thank you to so many of you who responded to last month’s request for assistance. There is still room for more volunteers so please take the time to check the sign-up sheet in the Parish Hall and consider how you can help do God’s work through this ministry.
How else can you help? If you or if you know of any parishioner in need of Prayer, LEV, Casseroles, transportation, Phone calls, small household or yard chores, please contact Barbara Loftus @ 860.599.5732 or call the office @ 860.535.1181 and your need will be forwarded to me.
Please know that Leslie and Amjad are always at the ready to visit or provide Pastoral Care, but they and the Prayer and Care Team can only be of assistance if we are aware of the need.
So, please prayerfully consider being a part of this ministry whether it be as one who gives, one who refers or one who receives.

| DO YOU EVER WORRY THAT YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE MAY CATCH FIRE? |
Do you ever worry that your Christmas tree may catch fire? Here is a formula for completely fireproofing your tree, supplied by Gordon Barnes, Garden expert on radio station WTOP, Washington, DC. Each item in the formula is important. In a two-gallon bucket, put in
1 gal. hot water from the tap
1 pt. clear Karo syrup
2 oz. chlorine bleach
2 pinches Epsom salts
1/2 tsp. Twenty Mule Team Borax
Stir the formula well. Now cut off an inch or two from the bottom of your tree. Place the tree securely in the bucket of liquid out of doors. After five days the tree will be fireproof. Fill your tree-stand with this formula when you bring the tree indoors. Refill the stand with the formula when needed.
