The agenda for this meeting was approved.

Interim Rector, the Rev. Dr. Leslie Smith was our guest and presented us with his thoughts on the relevance of “spirituality” in the interviewing process. His presentation was based on the words authenticity, collegiality and congruity with possible questions related to them. He also suggested that in the interviewing process we might want to ask a question pertaining to one or all of the three largest issues in the Church today: sexual orientation, ordained women and schisms within the Episcopal Church.

Barbara Casey then reviewed the procedures for the mock interview scheduled for March 11.

  • A friendly welcome with short tour of the campus
  • Each committee member would ask a question
  • Allow for 45 minutes of interview
  • Plus another 15 minutes for feedback, both to and from the candidate
  • Barbara Barnes will collect and compile all possible questions for next week’s meeting
  • If the original date for the mock interview is not suitable we will discuss alternatives at our next meeting

The Parish Profile was discussed:

  • Interim Rector, Leslie Smith will read the Profile before it goes to print
  • Individual pieces were due John Groton today, Feb. 18, 2010.
  • John and Barb Silver-Holt would circulate the text portion to other members in two weeks
  • Jennifer and Jack and others will continue to work on other aspects of the Profile
  • Jack will confer with Rev. Amjad Samuel on the pictorial aspect of the Profile
  • A sample of which will be available to committee members.

In regards to the resignation of the Music director it was determined to only reference the vacancy both in the Profile and in the TMN listing

Carole Barnard closed with a prayer.

There being no further business and the need for several committee members to attend the Vestry meeting, the meeting was adjourned at 6:59p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Barbara T. Barnes, secretary
