RECTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE MINUTES Date: July 20, 2010
Present: Carole Barnard, Barbara Barnes, Deb Burgess, Betsy Carr, Jack Gorby, John Groton, Barb Silver-Holt, Jennifer Parsons, John Phelps, Polly
Absent: Barbara Loftus
Approval of minutes: The minutes for the July 15, 2010 meeting were approved with the inclusion of the date of said meeting
Approval of agenda: Agenda was approved as presented
Search Team Concerns: The only comment was a request that in the future any responses NOT BE STAPLED to the outer envelope
Review of evaluation process: No matter who responds or not, it was agreed that all the material in hand should be scrutinized by each team member prior to viewing the DVD
- All candidates will be treated equally, whatever procedure we use
- One suggestion was that each member review all materials and if the team thinks further consideration is due, then the DVD will be viewed.
- There will be detailed discussion following phone interviews
Having received an e-mail from Canon Larsen suggesting that we not consider a particular individual with whom he had spoken in person, it was decided that Jack would send out a “no thank you” letter.
Two additional candidates had been forwarded to us via e-mail from Canon Larsen just prior to his going on vacation.
· Barbara Barnes would be responsible in the morning for sending each of them the original packet via the fastest route,
· Barb Silver-Holt would e-mail them alerting them to this mailing and including the two essay questions. She also would request that they respond by July 26th with an extra day or two possible if that were too inconvenient
An attempt was made to view the single DVD that we had received. Although we could eventually view the candidate there was no sound. It was determined to make another attempt at a later time.
Adjournment: There being no further business and following a prayer by Carole Barnard, the meeting was adjourned at 7:21.
