RECTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE MINUTES 

Date: July 22, 2010 Present: Carole Barnard, Barbara Barnes, Deb Burgess, Betsy Carr, John Groton, Barb Silver-Holt, Jennifer Parsons, John Phelps, Polly

Spring and Carla Stebbins

Absent: Jack Gorby and Barbara Loftus

Approval of minutes: The minutes for the July 20, 2010 meeting were approved with the deletion of the third bullet under Review of evaluation process

Approval of the agenda: The agenda was approved as presented

At this point in time the Search Committee meetings are mostly devoted to viewing sermon  DVDs and discussing those candidates having responded to the July 9th mailing.

  • Barbara Barnes had retrieved one additional response prior to this meeting. Copies were handed out to those present.
  • We were able to both see and hear the earlier DVD (see minutes of July 20, 2010)
  • While in meeting, Jennifer Parsons accessed a new e-mail addressed to herself as Junior Warden and to Senior Warden Deb Burgess.
  • A potential candidate from New Jersey had read our Profile and sent attached copies of a cover letter, sermon, CDO and resume.
  • This person had not, however contacted the Diocese.
  • Barb Silver-Holt would respond with thanks and the request that this candidate follow the requirements of all the rest.
  • Another candidate’s request to respond electronically to the two essay questions and to delay getting the sermon DVD to us until after his/her vacation was granted. Barb Silver-Holt would make immediate contact in response to this request.

Adjournment: There being no further business and following a prayer by Barbara Barnes (in Carole Barnard’s absence), the meeting was adjourned at 6:38p.m.
